WHAT ARE CHANGING PLACES TOILETS?

Changing Places Toilets are specialised facilities designed to meet the needs of people who cannot use standard accessible toilets. Unlike traditional restrooms, Changing Places Toilets are equipped with additional features such as a height-adjustable adult-sized changing bench, a hoist system, and extra space to accommodate a wheelchair user and up to two caregivers. These toilets also include a centrally located toilet to provide easy access from both sides, a privacy screen, and an adjustable sink.

WHAT FACILITIES DO OUR CHANGING PLACE TOILETS PROVIDE?

Toilet

The toilet is centrally placed with room on either side for a wheelchair user, and wall-mounted vertical grab rails and drop-down support rails on either side are fitted to offer support while transferring and while seated.

More Space

Our Changing Places Toilets are designed to be spacious allowing the user to comfortably use a wheelchair with room for two caregivers if further assistance is needed. The floor is non-slippery for safety with space for a privacy screen and waste bins for a clean environment.

Washbasin

The wash basin in our Changing Places Toilets has space below the bowl to allow a wheelchair user to access it and can be made adjustable. Our builds also include a shower facility which can be used with a shower seat or over the changing bench.

Changing Bench & Hoist

Our Changing Places Toiltes include a height-adjustable adult-sized changing bench to provide a comfortable stable platform for people who use pads or need help being changed in the toilet. A ceiling track hoist is fitted to enable support for people who are unable to lift themselves providing a safe and dignified way to move around the room.
